Miami was great the first time, but it was a little cloudy. So when a friend was contemplating going down for a weekend and was looking for another driver, I thought “why not?”

I think I did mention earlier that it was a very interesting experience, since I did get to drive, and drive lots of miles (OVAR 500!). There were tons of videos taken, and lots of pictures, or well maybe not. But it’ll be something that I would always look back and enjoy! (That sounded cheesy didn’t it?)

This was the car we drove down, a Chevvy Colbalt. 2.2L and pretty powerful imho. It had cruise control but a pity it didn’t come with leather seats. In the last picture it you can see the party that went down to Miami, 4 of us in total.

I figure I should write more about how happy I was to catch up with everyone again. Thank you to my dear friends that showed up at the airport! You really did surprise me and it really means alot to me that you showed up!

So I’ve been trying my darnest to catch up with everyone, it’s been pretty fun. It’s just weird how everything has gone back to the same old routine right now. I do miss the apartment and the independence I had there, as well as my own financial freedom. But hey, home is home!

What’s next? Who knows? It’s been hard to comprehend how nearly 7 months or 30 weeks, have flown by, just like that. Looking forward to getting my Singapore driving license. Hopefully I’ll get it by the end of the year, if not, by CNY next year.

I guess I’ll be keeping this, and probably be updating this too, albeit not as regularly as before, but there’s still going to be more USA pictures coming up, ones in Vegas and San Francisco, as well as those that I were too lazy to go through from before.

So before I sign off this post, a huge thank you goes out to my dear friends again, thanks for being there!

So it’s been a day of firsts for me.

First time in an ambulance, first time in so much pain for so long and first time that I got this sick that I had to be brought to the emergency department.

Got all hooked up and drugged up on morphine since the pain was so bad.

But at least I’m getting better now.

So it’s has been a couple of interesting weeks. Somehow I love to just snuggle up in my bed and just lie there and do absolutely nothing.

Like right now, I’m not doing absolutely nothing because I am doing something, such as writing this post, waiting for my laundry, trying to stay awake and worrying what I am going to do when I go home. All not in any particular order whatsoever. I guess I should also add that I am worried about my finances.

I know it’s wrong for me to do this, but sometimes I really do get jealous of others who seem to have an almost unlimited spending power. Boy would I love to have that. I guess sometimes I just would like to get stuff without any worry or guilt that you have spent your paper-effort (aka money) on stuff. But I guess I’m also proud that I am such a big, for a lack of better word, cheapskate. I guess I know the value of money, I don’t think I splurge TOO much on clothing, maybe a little, but clothing isn’t something that comes in one of my top priorities. I come from a middle class family and ever since Dad’s retired, finances in the house have also become tighter and tighter. But I survive.. right?

It’s embarrassing sometimes, to have to deny an invitation to go out cause I have “no money”. It sounds pretty lame, but sometimes I really do have no frickin money. It’s also downright tempting sometimes, and a helload of demoralizing, for reasons which I cannot seem to remember right now.

Things have really been up-and-downish for me. and it just seems murphy’s law loves to bite me in the butt. (eg. everything that can go wrong, just simply loves to go wrong. wtf right?)

I spent an evening with someone whom I consider a good friend recently (something which I do hope is reciprocated). It was highly enlightening, and we both seemed to lots of similar views on life.

One of the topics brought up whilst we were chatting was about how traveling together with people simply brought out the best and worst of them. It’s funny because my mom actually told me that when I was five years old after she had come back from a trip with London who is now her not-so-best-friend (in a nutshell the trip didn’t go so well with her), and yet almost fourteen years later, I still remember what she said and I’m even realizing it’s actually true!

So here I am now, almost 21 weeks into a program where I am forced to live in close quarters with other people from other walks of life. Fun eh?

I don’t know how I would rate myself as a roommate. I would say I’m pretty anal about cleanliness, yet sometimes I can be messy with my personal belongings. Does that make sense? For a more accurate description, I can’t stand dishes in the sink, or stains on the wall, or clothes strewn all over the floor. But I seem to be able to make messes of wires and just haphazardly junking stuff onto the drawer top till it becomes this pile of messiness.

I think my roommate, (not apartment mates, the roommate that shares my sleeping room with me) is pretty cool with me, or at least I hope he is. We haven’t had any major disagreements as of yet, and we pretty much coexist in a peaceful environment. It also helps that he’s as analed about tidyness as I am, so our room is relatively neater as compared to other rooms! (Woot!)

Somehow though, I just get this feeling that we’re probably not getting to know each other as well as other roommates are. I mean, he’s really cool, and we talk and all, but maybe it’s just me, and I just feel that I don’t know him well enough yet. I also forgot his birthday which I am truly apologetic for!!!  (emosadface) Nevertheless, it’s been awesome living with him till this point of time, and I couldn’t ask for a better roommate.

So I digress.

Traveling with people does indeed give you great insight to what people characters truly are. I do agree that no one is perfect, and that everyone including myself does carry alot of flaws. But what I do not get is how some people can become so shallow and superficial.

I like people that are honest with me, but yet have developed good ethics and morals. I like people who are truthful and sincere. I also like people who treasure friendship. Is that really hard to find?

I know the afterword really does sound incredibly emo that it makes you want to cut yourself, but I hope it didn’t come off as too depressing. I’ll try harder next time! I promise!
